Bursaries - bursaries

Now is the best time to decide what you want to do next year. A number of ABSA bursaries are available for studies in risk management at the Potchefstroom and Vaal Triangle campuses of the North West University.

The duration of the course is 4 or 5 years. The undergraduate course is either a BSc in Business Mathematics and Informatics specialising in Quantitative Risk Management (offered by the Centre for Business Mathematics and Informatics) or a BCom in Risk Management (offered by the School for Economics), followed by postgraduate specialisation in quantitative Risk Management (Hons BSc and MSc or Risk Management (Hons BCom).

Candidates must have completed a grade 11 with at least a B symbol in mathematics (not mathematical literacy). The bursaries are conditional in the sense that the final award would depend on the candidate's grade 12 marks, as well as an interview which the candidate would be expected to attend during January 2010.

For more information on the study programme, please refer to NWU online. Click on "Bursaries", download the ABSA Bursary (BMI) application form, complete it and submit it with a copy of your latest academic results to the address/email indicated on the application form.

Closing date is on the 18 September 2009. Preference will be given to previously disadvantaged candidates.
