The New Africa Theatre Association (NATA) provides professional theatre production on a number of levels, including developmental training, educational theatre, industrial theatre and mainstream productions of original works based on South African themes. Auditions for the Academy are held in December and January of each year, and core courses include: Acting & Improvisation, Singing & Music, Movement & Contemporary Dance, African Dance, Voice &, Speech and History of Theatre. After completion of study, students receive a nationally recognised Certificate in Performing Arts. This equips learners with the skills to continue studying further at university level, or to enter the industries of theatre, film, television, dance, and radio. Training also enables learners to work in community-based projects focused on building capacity. New Africa Theatre Association
