The Department of Correctional Services is contributing towards skills development by providing opportunities to gain work experience. It is therefore inviting applications for an Internship Pro-gramme that would run for a period of twelve (12) months.

Interns will be placed nationally within the Department of Correctional Services (Head Office, Re-gions and Management Areas). It is required that candidates should have their own accommoda-tion and transport, Department of Correctional Services will only pay a monthly stipend of R3 500, 00.

Successful interns will be expected to sign an Internship Agreement.

Requirements: Applicants must be graduates in possession of a three year qualification in the fields specified below and must be 18 to 35 years old.

Interns: Asset Management

Requirements: A tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management/Logistics/Commerce/Public Administration. Computer literacy, especially in Excel and good interpersonal skills.

Duties:

• Checking if assets are bar-coded Checking the correctness of the location of assets
• Checking if assets are appearing in the asset register
• Rectification of discrepancies found during asset verification
• Conducting spot checks and compile reports
• Reconciliation of the asset verification findings with asset register and expenditure reports.
