Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) is a result of the merger in 2004 between three prominent technikons: Technikon Northern Gauteng, Technikon North-West and Technikon Pretoria.

With a 60 000-strong student body spread across Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Limpopo and North-West provinces, TUT’s campuses are located in Tshwane (Pretoria, Soshanguve, Ga-Rankuwa), Nelspruit and Polokwane. One of its key academic focuses is the economic and social development of the Southern African region.

In its quest to promote knowledge and technology, TUT provides the market with a career-focused workforce, and aims at making a significant contributiont to creating sustainable economic growth that will impact on the standard of living of all the region’s people.
